AGOSTO MONTEFALCHESE

The August Montefalchese is back, the event that will enliven the summer nights of the Umbrian railing for a month.
The 2022 edition is confirmed as full of events linked to local history and traditions with music, shows and historical re-enactments in the streets and squares of the evocative city of Montefalco.
The review will open on August 4 at 20.00 with the extraordinary Renaissance Banquet in Piazza del Comune. An evening in which the four districts of the city participate, Sant’Agostino, San Bartolomeo, San Fortunato and San Francesco, and which is accompanied by the commemorative ceremony for the fiftieth anniversary of the Escape of the ox: a historical re-enactment that will enliven the streets of the city with a procession of over 400 extras, games and competitions to arrive in the historic site of the Viale della Vittoria car park, with the race of the oxen. At the conclusion of the event and based on the result of the four competitions between the districts, the highly sought-after Falco d’oro will be awarded. The ceremony will take place on the loggia of the town hall and admission is free.
There will also be Tavernas, adorned with the colors and signs of each of the districts, which will come alive in the most evocative places of the city among fifteenth-century cloisters and panoramic terraces to taste the ancient smells and flavors of the local gastronomy, savor the fragrance of the prestigious wines of Montefalco
